On June 5th, 1999 - Lee-Anne and I departed Pretoria in our 1968 Series IIA diesel Land Rover. During our trip we had named our Landy, Mrs Golly (GOL referring to Grand Old Lady).

Stuck in the mud 30Km from Kubu Island! Both vehicles had been stuck!

Camping the night on the pans...The Land Cruiser was still stuck on the pans.

Land Rover stuck in a Warthog hole whilst attempting to fetch wood to rescue Land Cruiser which was stuck in the pans.

Stuck...still!!

Using the highlift jack we lifted the rear wheel and used the sand ladders to cover the hole to drive off! 24 Hours later we headed back to Nata after 3 rescue attempts!
